Joint News Release - Magna and BASF Canada Support Road Hockey To Conquer Cancer
Companies donate $20,000 to cancer care and research
AURORA and MISSISSAUGA, CANADA, October 4, 2016 -- Magna International Inc. and BASF Canada rallied to make a joint donation of $20,000 to Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
The October 1 fundraising event took place at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, and featured a friendly road hockey tournament and celebrity appearances. Geraldine Heaney, Canadian Hockey Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medalist, joined the Magna/BASF team as an honorary player. The team, made up of players from both companies, was among the top 40 donors to the cause.
“We know it takes teamwork and collaboration to meet the biggest challenges, whether it’s developing new innovations for the auto industry or supporting research to beat cancer,” said Marc Neeb, Chief Human Resources Officer, Magna International. “We’re very proud to join with our colleagues from BASF Canada in support of this worthy cause.”

The joint donation will help support breakthrough cancer research, patient care and education programs.
