SAILAUF, Germany, July 18, 2017 – Magna employees stand front-and-center when challenged to deliver for their customer, so it is fitting the team at Magna’s Aksaray, Turkey, facility celebrated producing 10,000 front-end modules for the Mercedes-Benz Actros heavy-duty commercial truck.

“Our team dedicates itself to delivering the highest quality front-end modules to our customer,” said Samir Deliormanli, General Manager. “We take great pride in supplying dynamic products expected by a premium automotive brand.”

The milestone adds to the recent recognition Magna has received for its exteriors capabilities. Last fall, Magna earned several awards from the Society of Plastics Engineers for its breakthroughs in vehicle lightweighting, and the company recently received a General Motors Supplier of the Year Innovation award for a unique manufacturing processes.

“Our exteriors products from front-end modules to active grille shutters provide automakers with lighter-weight, fuel-efficient solutions,” said Magna Exteriors President Grahame Burrow. “This production milestone, along with our recent customer and industry awards, highlights our ability to exceed our customers’ expectations with superior quality and product innovation.”

Magna’s 5,700 square-meter Aksaray facility employs approximately 35 people and supplies front-end modules exclusively to Mercedes-Benz. The modules are manufactured using a unique pure polypropylene solution that helps reduce vehicle weight, improves fuel efficiency and is more affordable than conventional sheet molding compounds.
